Phillip Ogilby is the Chief Executive Officer at STACK Construction Technologies. STACK Construction Technologies provides cloud-based solutions for optimizing business workflows, built with constructor contractors in mind. Their wide range of customizable tools includes pre-construction estimation, digital planning, team communication, and more. STACK has thousands of users worldwide and is the fastest growing cloud-based solution for takeoffs and estimates in the construction industry today.
Phillip has 38 years of experience in the construction and contracting industry and is a contractor turned serial entrepreneur. In 1984, Phillip started a construction contracting company, and later, with his son Justin’s technological knowledge and Phillip’s knowledge of construction coupled with a vision, Justin created construction estimating software. In 2000, Phillip developed an online portal where general contractors could share their plans and specs using the internet. A year later, those programs merged with another software platform to form iSqFt, now known as ConstructConnect — a major force in turning the construction world from paper to digital. In 2008, Phillip left iSqFt and started STACK. The rest is history.
Loose post-it notes and forgotten appointments hastily scribbled on a piece of paper are a thing of the past. Gone are the days of figuring out the mistake in your spreadsheet formula.
Phillip Ogilby says it’s time for contractors to take control of their work. The world is becoming more reliant on digital solutions for everyday business workflows, allowing people to take control of their tasks remotely by saving their documents in the cloud and connecting with team members on the go. Yet, construction contractors are struggling to put down the pen and paper from 20 years gone by and rely on the convenience of having project details readily available on their mobile devices.
In this episode of Get the Intel, Chad Gill is joined by Phillip Ogilby, Chief Executive Officer at STACK Construction Technologies. They talk about why the construction contract industry has been slow to integrate more digital tools into everyday processes. Phillip shares his experience within the field and how the lack of digital solutions shaped his desire to innovate by combining industry-leading technology and ease of access for the most customized experience.
